Residue Left on Appliance After Sticker/Label Removed

Possible Cause What to Do
Reside from Sticker/Label - Glass

If you can use 'De-solv-It' label remover, you will need some water, a melamine foam sponge (if possible) and a disposable towel.

Make sure you have good lighting so you can see that all the residue has been removed.

NOTE: You can purchase De-solv-it from most major Supermarkets or Hardware Stores

Process to Remove Residue:

  1. Fold disposable towels into smaller, thick pieces
  2. Spray De-Solv-It onto a clean folded towel  Avoid using excess amounts of De-Solv-It, as this makes the removal more difficult later
  3. Wipe De-Solv-It across full surface of the glass – “Massage” into the surface      (like gently polishing), until glass is fully covered, for ALL doors at same time. Avoid wetting the Dispenser UI, trims and handles etc.
  4. Wet another clean folded towel, and wipe off excess De-Solv-it from all doors Use enough water to effectively “rinse” off the De-Solv-It, without excess water dripping down the product
  5. Dry the surface with a fresh disposable towel.  Dry gently and thoroughly, removing droplets before they turn into water spots
  6.  Assess cleaned finish under strong reflected light (floodlights).  Look for remaining bubble marks or streaks.  If marks persist, use a Magic Eraser to rub the full surface, to ensure a consistent finish. Can be used wet or dry.  Repeat cleaning process as necessary
Residue from Sticker/Label - Other Surfaces

First remove as much of the sticker/label as possible, use a Plastic spatular (or something similar) to avoid scratching your appliance.

Use an Oil Based product which you may already have in your household. e.g Eucalyptus Oil, Cooking Oil, Baby Oil etc

Make sure you have good lighting so you can see that all the residue has been removed.

Process to Remove Residue:

  1. Using a clean cloth, Rub the oil into the sticky residue, ensure you saturate the whole area.
  2. Leave for 5 minutes.
  3. After 5 minutes, using a clean cloth wipe away the sticky residue.
  4. Once the residue has been removed, soak a cloth in soapy warm water and wipe down the area.
  5. Wipe dry with a towel.
  6. Repeat process if you can still see residue.
